After walking out of this lecture, I found myself very confused about the contents of this unit.
The question asked “What works and does not work for a Parliament?” is a question I cant even begin to imagine to answer. There are so many factors to consider. I am hoping that in the next few weeks I will find it easier to comprehend.
I am very intrigued by the strategies; Mobile, Flexible, Virtual and Distributed, but its going to take a lot of effort to get my mind to think outside of the box and take the words further than just their simplest meanings.
Before coming to class I read through the booklet of the CAPIThetiCAL competition, and expected the brief to make more sense after the first lecture. The brief is unbelievably vague and broad which worries me. To be honest, the idea of Parliament and Australia’s Capital has never really interested me very much, apart from the overall layout and design of Canberra, Which I found interacted very harmoniously with the surrounding nature. I have only been to the city once when I was in year 6 on a school excursion, and needless to say, I do not remember a great deal of it.
I have decided that I will research further into the design and layout of Canberra for next week, maybe it will give me a clearer understanding of this unit?
