After watching the Loop City video, I have been thinking about how to take that idea and use it to Canberra's advantage and to make this my own design more beneficial to Canberra on a large scale as well as making the city more efficient. I also want design something that is different, and that pushes the boundaries of design because this is my last design assignment at uni (hopefully). Could all of Canberra’s transport systems – public and private be integrated somehow into one system?
Walking
Tram
Private and busses
Im still going to stick with the idea of incorporating a light rail system into Canberra’s transport system, but I have a specific light rail system in mind. After quite a bit of reading and researching, I have found a new light rail system that will suite the design I have very well. The system was designed by a company called Unimodal Transport Solutions. The system is based at NASA, and is high speed, low-cost and what makes it very different to other light rail systems, it is a personal transportation system. This means that it is very convenient for business people to use to travel to work.
The tram is passive magnetic levitation, ultra-light vehicles, cruising on air, using the amount of
energy it takes to power two hand-held hairdryers. Using this system mean that the stations
designed for the system can range from small platforms to larger stations with shops, etc. at more busy stops like Parliament House, the Airport, the Translink station, and civic etc.

Im hoping that I can incorporate not only a station for the light rail system, but also, include some sustainable systems into the system itself.
