Week 2 Tutorial – Flexible

Macquarie Dictionary definition
Flexible:
·         Capable of being bent, easily bent
·         Susceptible of modification or adaptation; adaptable
·         Willing or disposed to yield
For me, defining the word “flexible” could take very long. It can be used in many context and can mean a lot of different things. Mainly though, when I think of the word “flexible” I think:
·         A gymnast
·         Being able to change an aspect of a building or object and by doing so, changing its purpose.
·         Using flexible materials like rope, material, some metals, ply wood etc.

Buildings could be designed to be altered, in shape, size, and even their location. These buildings could be used as homes. The future is uncertain, and we do not know what is happening with climate change and even war and famine. These buildings could be propped up anywhere and could be set up to suite a warm climate or even a cold climate.  A building like this could also be utilised when refugees have no place to live, or homeless people. They could be mass produced and distributed to countries like Africa and used by people who do not have shelter, as well as being used by people who have lost their homes in natural disasters etc.
