Week 2 Tutorial – Distributed
Macquarie Dictionary definition
Distributed:
· To divide and bestow in shares; deal out; allot
· To disperse through a space over an area; spread; scatter
· To divide into parts of distinct character
· To divide into classes
Distribution can mean that an object or entity is duplicated many times and the entities or objects are spread or “distributed” over many different areas. Or it can mean in the case of a building that the building is made up of different sections.
If Australia was broken up into separate countries, which are all self-sufficient, with its own Agriculture, water, power generation etc, Australia might be a very sustainable continent? There would be large quantities of jobs available in each country in all areas, and as a result, the economy of these countries would be successful.
In an natural disaster, similar the floods, or the hurricane at the beginning of the year, emergency supplies could be distributed to those in need by using a mechanised, accurate catapult. By doing this, there will be very little natural resources used to supply those in need, and the supplies would be able to reach the people in need very quickly. This would solve the problem of emergency crews struggling to reach people in need of food, shelter, clothes or first aid because of flood waters or large scale damage to land preventing emergency services to pass.
