Week 2 Tutorial – Virtual

Macquarie Dictionary definition
Virtual:
·         Being such in power, force, or effect, although not actually or expressively such
·         Optics: a. denoting an image formed by the apparent convergence of rays geometrically (but not actually) prolonged, as the image in a mirror (opposed to real).
·         B. Denoting a focus of a corresponding nature
·         Computers of or relating to someone or something which exists in virtual reality
To me the word “virtual” is a difficult one to go into large amounts of detail in, or brain storm ideas for. Since the beginning of my course, the “virtual” theme group has always been the tutorial in which digital media is used to portray one’s design. Thinking about “virtual” ideas and thinking outside of the box is something I found very difficult, that is, until sci-fi movies came into the conversation. The ideas started rolling quite freely after this.

If every person on earth was implanted with a chip when born, they could be easily located if they go missing, or run from the law, or if a disaster strikes and they are in a plane crash, or in a natural disaster etc. While this would be controversial, it would solve many of mankind’s problems???
