Week 3 Tutorial – Mobile and Distributed

The main idea talked about this week is the idea of mobile schools. Schools that that are built on the backs of trucks, on boats or on trains that can travel around Australia to the less populated towns, where schools are minimal, it would be even more beneficial in Countries like India, and impoverished Countries in Africa where education is a luxury. These mobile educational facilities can be driven around or sailed around to remote areas thus giving all children a chance for education.

We discussed with Jane Foster The architect Jenifer Siegal, who is a architect that mainly focussed on mobile projects. And Jane talked to us about her theme group idea- the Traveling Circus.

Week 3 Tutorial – Distribution

What if Australia put more resources into education for underprivileged children? They could create educational pods that can be distributed throughout Australia which contain any resources needed for the children depending on their age. Once finished with the resources contained in said pods, the pod would be sent back to the distribution centre and the next pod would be sent to the child.  This could mean that more of these children, who, in any other circumstance, would not have a chance at a decent future, would be able to one day go to University and study in whatever areas it is that they had been dreaming of.
